This is a reflection of its malfunctioning and that is just one symptom and there more going on. Currently, we are still transitioning as what people know and we are beginning to go into a new era. The best example for this is our education. People are already educated through their own work or working environment.

All kinds of job even the ones that are small or those which are big are putting people inside boxes. Another is that we fear of doing something wrong and it manifests in our behavior and it paralyzes the thinking of the people. It does not encourage creativity, it limits the thoughts of individuals and it creates clones in our thinking. It isolates in the box therefore we can’t think outside our boxes.

Here are some of the few characteristics of a modern society, and it could either bring benefits or not.

This characteristic is within reach individuals in the modern world. You can go to school easily and online. You can have your classes even if you are just sitting down in your own personal computer. They also have online courses that do not require you to pay anything which is very helpful to a lot of individuals.

Interference of online media.

A business can fail within minutes online. It can fail due to bad online business management. In the grounds of today, you can already manage your business online. You do not need to go to an office or a building for you to be called a businessman, you can turn on your laptop or computer and you already are a functional businessman. But given that, it can also cause failure because of the instant transparency which is in the thinking of the new generation. There are many businesses like U Win Marketing that optimizes business websites and more.

Well, the different crisis that we are facing each and every day is what caused people to create a new and better society. We upgrade everything to help ourselves combat this crisis. It might not be obvious but there is a new revolution that is going on and it is a very powerful and strong one. It is making a parallel society where everything is equal. A perfect manifestation of this is how people ignore the systems provided to them and they opt for their own system. This new movement causes our current society to be outdated.

Buildings and structure made in the past generations, today, are not anymore functional. There has been a lot of people who lost their jobs because of this. Instead, the 24/7 businesses has produced and gained more now than ever before. This has been the new trend and it was put up by the new generation or the modern society.

We have lost track of how many new developments emerge every day. It is a difficult task to trace all of them especially for the big companies which doesn’t have the speed, capacity and brilliant employees with big ideas to put into reality.

However despite all of these, we still enjoy the advantages it gives. Fast transaction and transportation which makes everything easier.

What Are the Important Characteristics Of A Society

A society also has its own important characteristics. And a society must have a population. Without the population, a society is never possible. But don’t get it wrong because it is not a bunch of people but it a system of social relationships. The population is important because to make the relationships work, it must involve people. Thus, this is the first and the most significant requirement of a society.

1. Likeness

Without the sense of likeness there can be no acknowledgement of the belonging together that results to a rejection as a society. The sense of likeness was discovered in kinship in the early society and for the modern societies, the sense of likeness flourished into nationalism or the principles of nationality. A society is population by individuals who has the same body and mind. Union of any kind can never be possible without the sense of likeness because they can never untie if they do not understand each other.

2 . Differences

The society is dependent to the likeness and as well as the differences this is why it as important as likeness. Differences and likeness together creates division in labor which makes a great and successful society because it compliments social relationships. Although it is really important to make a society work, differences alone could not create a harmonious society, most likely, it will create chaos that causes a society to break down and fail for so many reasons. Even a family has their own differences in their abilities, interest and capacities.

3. Inter-dependence

This is also a very impactful characteristic of a society. It can be found in every aspect in the modern society. Men need others for survival; food, shelter, security and for the realization of his needs and provisions. Interdependence increased significantly with the advancement in the society. Biological interdependence on the different sexes is where the family which is the first society base on. Communities, societies and other groups are also interdependent with each other.

Cooperation is essential in the formative times of a society. If this is non-existent, there can also be no society. People would not be able to live a happy life if this does not exist. The family rests on cooperation and it helps avoid destructiveness and financial system in expenditure. But conflict is also essential because its role is to strengthen bonds and relationships between each other. Conflict and cooperation co-exist with each other and because of these two, a society is also formed. The conflict makes the cooperation even more meaningful than what it is. Types of Societies

There are five basic types of societies that experts refer to throughout history even if there are many more existing societies out there. These types that we are about to tell you are characterized by their level of technology.

The first type is the hunting and gathering society. They survive through hunting different animals, fishing and planting or gathering plants. Most members of this society are on the brink of extinction but there are still few alive.

Long time ago, the hunting and gathering societies were nomadic which means that they do not settle in one place and they move around from place to place for food and water. They were dependent on their environment so if the plant in the area dies and animals migrates or rivers might dry, they will have to place themselves on other areas where their needs are met. And if they find a place where they can settle in and have more than enough resources, a small village might be formed but this is a scenario that does not happen often.

There is also what we call the pastoral societies which first surfaced 12,000 long years ago. They grazed animals for food and transport. This type of society still exists today. They are chiefly found on the North African deserts where manufacturing is not existent and possible.

If they tame the animals, it will provide them with more food as compared to hunting for them. This is why pastoral societies produce sufficient food because they are able to save it for the future. Neighboring pastoral societies also exchange goods with each other. And they are not nomads; they stay in one place for a long period of time. This happens because this allows them to store food and supplies longer.

Next, we have the agricultural societies. They are advanced in their technology in cultivating crops like barley, corn, rice, wheat and other grains. The advancement in technology led to raising more farm animals and more cultivated crops. Their food supply has increased and their population rose. It also resulted to towns being trade centers to support educators, merchants, leaders and religious rulers.

Feudal societies are based on the ownership of land. In the 9th to 15th centuries, they were ought to take care of the land of their leader in exchange for protection. But sadly, the leaders or lords abused this and the servants are forced to provide food, homage, crops and more services. This is called the caste system and it will go on from one generation to another that included other family members.

Lastly we have industrial societies. They use fueled machines to produce goods. In the 18th century where good were produced by these machines, experts named it as the industrial revolution. Industrial revolution first flourished in Britain and spread like wildfire across the entire globe.

To better accommodate the transport products, the means of transportation also improved. Wealthy people in that time owned factories and the common people worked in many factories that produces and sells goods. Factories then became as a center of jobs and mass media later on became the norm. The health of the people also improved as their life expectancy increased.
